SCAVENGER HUNTTTT
For my art methods class I went on a scavenger hunt and we took photos of the elements and principles of art. My top 5 favorite photos are shown below :)
This work of art shows repetition by repeating a pattern of the light poles shown in the photo.
This picture is a work of art that was done by another student and it symbolizes unity because it is a unified and a dominant idea.
This one shows the leaves changing from summer to fall and it represents value because it has dark and light values and shows a range of them.
This photo shows movement or in other words the action shot because I had my teammates jump up in the air like they just won or just having fun.
This is my absolute favorite because it shows a well balance between dark and light for it represents contrast in a picture.

Follow the Foot :)
The foot print I made had many things on it. I put lots of color on it to show that I love color. I used pastels because it was one of my favorite mediums. I wrote my last name because that's what most people call especially those who are on my softball team. I drew a softball because I have been in softball since I was little and now play in college. I drew a t-shirt and wrote Delias on it because I love to shop and my favorite store is Delias. I made toenails out of this zebra print tape because my favorite animal is zebra. I outlined my foot in blue because my favorite color is blue. the random lines with color represents abstraction because it's the art I choose to make and like.
When making your footprint you have to trace one or both of your feet depending on how much information you want to share and try to use pictures instead of words, so that the point is to represent things not just see words and also drawing pictures will me=ake the composition more interesting.
The extesion activity I would do is you have to trace your familys hands and/or their feet and tell the class about your family and what they like. It's a way to get to know more about your family and how you were raised so you can get a better understanding of where your students are from.
I believe you can do this in any class just to get your students into the spirit of what ever class... Like math you can do it for geometry. When I was in high school we had to draw our bedroom and show what we had in it. It can be incorporated in anything we do just so we can get a better understanding of one another.

ADS VS AGE
People when the make magizines they have to make sure that their ads have models in it that are in the targets age range. It's usually effective because if its a teen magazine, teens usually want to look like as in grow up and be like the models in the magazines.
But the older people see ads and they want to feel youthful so that they can be worth something.
The only time its not effective is when they try to hard (as in the advertisers) or they are totally off in the target group or whatever they are selling.
Usually they know their stuff.

Stereotypes?
I believe media plays a big role in stereotypes. Especially on blondes, because usually the skimpy, sexy girl in the movie is a blonde and sometimes not always they are stupid, but media has come a long way from what they used to show.
Media maintains these stereotypes by showing it in different people and mostly they show it in celebrities. The media makes fun at people who may look different or even talk different, but really everyone is the same. We all may have different personalities, but we all have one.
The medias role is to make fun at people or they over exaggerate in who or what they are stereotyping?. They do this to get an audience or they try to make a point. Sometimes if your trying to make a point its good for others, but the media sometimes doesn't do that when they should.
Media is what gave us the ideas of stereotypes of women and men around the world... problem is, is that we have to figure out what they truly mean by them. So what do you think of them?

#1 -- t.v. VS. real life?
I know values have changed because back then they had women stay home and men go to work, but nowadays women work too. It may not be equal in some places, but it's still a job. Women really just basically cooked and cleaned whereas the men "brought home the bacon." Some people, both men and women, stay at home and work from there. Another example could be when you see older t.v. shows for schools they have "thick cliques," when I say thick I mean it's like when people have thick accents you can tell and thick cliques are like kind of stereotype of people like nerds you imagine rimmed glasses, hiked up pants, and they snort. Thats what I mean about thick cliques, but in real life people don't look like that or like that, sure we have cliques, but it's a group of friends the clique isn't labeled like JOCKS, PREPS, STONERS, etc. but it's just a group of friends who hang together. Another is on t.v. you see bullies who take lunches, nowadays you don't ever see that, at least I've never seen it. Like any other school it's a place to learn and hang with friends, it's just how life is.
